Reactionary Content & Community Engagements
Trends and live reactions and engagements—oh my! I’ve leveraged zeitgeist conversations to curate content and engagements across numerous social handles that were in response to trends.
Why Editing Is Half of Photography | VSCO
In response to the “Why editing is half of photography” trending video format, I produced a version of the trend for VSCO to connect back to the root of our brand, which became our most watched Instagram Reel ever at that time.
Low Engagement ≠ Low Quality Work Threads Post | VSCO
In the midst of shifting algorithms and a movement towards video content, photographers across the board have been actively expressing frustrations over their photography posts receiving low engagement. I drafted a reassuring post in response to this sentiment that many photographers instantly felt validated by.
Twitter’s Ban of Links Reactive Content | Linktree
Twitter announced that it would be banning links that promote other 3rd party sites in tweets, which became a decision that later was overturned due to backlash and “Linktree” even trending as a topic at #9. Throughout the different phases of the incident, I worked with leadership teams to release statements, play into reactive humor, and ensure that the Internet was aware that the policy was deleted.
Following People on Threads Post | Linktree
Day 1 of Threads was nothing short of chaotic energy as millions of people were still trying to figure out the new app. Knowing that “rules” or “standards” still had yet to be established with it being early days, I posted a call out about following practices that many people resonated with.
Threads Social Icon Product Feature | Linktree
As soon as Threads app opened to the public, the Linktree community immediately started requesting a new icon feature for the social network. We raised these inquiries with our engineering teams and they were able to turnaround the update in less than 24 hours. From there, I shared a simple video to show that we listened to their feedback made the icon available (at lightning speed!). The post climbed the ranks to become our highest performing Threads yet.
Threads Launch Announcement Meme | Linktree
Not another social media platform! As the countdown to the launch of Threads started circulating Instagram, I put together a meme that played into the humor of having to take on another channel as a someone that has a social media career.
Mr Beast Instagram Birthday Giveaway Meme | Linktree
During the week of Mr Beast’s birthday, you couldn’t go on Instagram without seeing nearly everyone you follow share his giveaway onto their Stories. Shortly after he announced the winners, I crafted a meme that summarized a sentiment that most people on Instagram were likely feeling.
Response to Instagram’s launch of multiple links in bio | Linktree
When Instagram announced that they would be allowing up to five links in bio, the Internet was quick to turn to Linktree to question what this meant for our platform. Meta had been a long time user of Linktree and was still utilizing the product at the time of the news. We used this as an opportunity to prove our value by showing the world that even Instagram’s parent company still had Linktree in its bio, which made media headlines.
Olivia Rodrigo’s “drivers license” x Taylor Swift | High School Musical: The Musical: The Series
To celebrate Olivia Rodrigo, the lead of Disney+’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, and her song drivers license ranking #1 globally — I put together a custom asset that highlights the moment when Taylor Swift previously congratulated her on her success. Icons supporting icons? This was truly an iconic moment.
2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show Tweet | Oh My Disney
In response to conversations around Shakira and Jennifer Lopez’s 2020 Super Bowl halftime show performance, I crafted this top-performing tweet. The post included a clip from Zootopia of Gazelle, voiced by Shakira, singing on stage in an outfit very similar to what was worn during the actual Super Bowl.
Mickey Rainbow Grilled Cheese Sandwich Video | Disney Eats
With the growing trend of rainbow food, I worked alongside the Content Marketing team to ideate and produce a custom recipe video, featuring Mickey Rainbow Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. This recipe was also developed in collaboration with a food blogger from the community.
Who Are You Sitting With? Lunch Table Meme | Oh My Disney
As a play on the lunch table meme that was popular at the time, I partnered with our design team to quickly turn around Disney spin on the trend with this illustration that invited fans to engage with their personal seating selection.
“I Know a Place” Tangled Tweet | Disney+
With the rise of the “I know a place” Twitter trend, I put together a version that was suited for the Disney+ brand by doing a spin with a popular title.
Nemo = Finsta | Oh My Disney
Finstas (Fake Instagrams) were becoming all the rage, so this post curated to help “define” the term—featuring Nemo and his fin that is a bit different than his other one.
Troy Bolton Cultural Impact Tweet | Oh My Disney
Can you name a more iconic moment than Troy Bolton in High School Musical 2? At the time, this tweet format was gaining traction on Twitter, so I put together a version that calls out one of the most memorable performances from the franchise.
From engaging with posts from talent to executing cross-talk across other accounts, these are some of the examples of community management I’ve crafted to generate more of an authentic voice for our handles.
