Social Media Marketing Stunts

There’s no better way to make a splash in the social space than with an epic stunt! Here are some of the digital marketing stunts I played a role in ideating and orchestrating.

National Best Friends Day Thread | Linktree Marketplace

To build awareness for the launch of the Linktree Marketplace, I scripted a banter-style Twitter thread with some select platform partners, such as Reddit and GoFundMe. This thread was positioned as a role call for some of Linktree’s friends on National Best Friends Day that lead to a closing tweet about how you can find each of these partners via the new Marketplace.

The Disney Bundle National Streaming Day | Disney+

In collaboration with Hulu and ESPN+, I’ve led two National Streaming Day takeovers, filled with exciting content drops, watch parties, and surprises across social channels from the three services. From a Twitter buy of the trending hashtag to back-to-back announcements, it was an eventful day full of stunts for our Disney Bundle campaign.

Hamilton Twitter Watch Party

Lil Nas X Giveaway | Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe

In partnership with Lil Nas X, we helped to honor his iconic 2019 tweet by giving away Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe merchandise to fans, which even included a custom signed poster by him! This stunt brought #PhineasAndFerbMovie up the Twitter ranks, trending #4 that day.

Dr. Doofenshmirtz Takeover | Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe

To promote the debut of the Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe on Disney+, I worked with series co-creators (and voice of Dr. Doofenshmirtz) Dan Povenmire and Swampy Marsh to craft a takeover from Dr. Doofenshmirtz on @DisneyPlus Twitter. This included a full day of exciting stunts, including themed-threads and a live Q&A, and was our first animated character takeover. As a result, Phineas and Ferb trended at #24 on Twitter that day.

Muppets Now Video Call

Muppets Video Call | Muppets Now

As a pre-promotion effort for the Muppets Now series, we had each Muppet character handle release a previously recorded video call, while Joe from Legal and Disney+ responded to each post with commentary. We then aggregated all of the social posts together into a Twitter Moment for fans to enjoy.

Clouds: A Musical Celebration Virtual Concert | Clouds

To pay tribute to Zach Sobiech’s music and celebrate the release of the Disney+ Original Movie Clouds, we held a virtual concert on Facebook Live. There were a number of special appearances and performances throughout the concert—such as Sabrina Carpenter, OneRepublic, and Jason Mraz.

Cast & Crew Twitter Watch Party | Soul

In celebration of Disney and Pixar’s Soul debuting on Disney+, we joined forces with cast, crew, and other Disney + Pixar social handles to run a live tweet stunt of the movie on Twitter.

Secret Society of Second-Born Royals

Character Poster Reveal | Secret Society of Second-Born Royals

We partnered with the cast of Secret Society of Second-Born Royals to debut posters for their characters that reveal their powers and celebrate one month until the premiere of the Original Movie on Disney+.

The Disney Bundle Super Bowl Twitter Cross-Talk | Disney+

Although most people watch the Super Bowl from home, there’s never a shortage of whoops, hollers, and cheers! To bring this enthusiasm to The Disney Bundle Super Bowl spot, I led a reactionary cross-talk stunt on the spots posted across Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Twitter pages. We had franchise, show, and brand handles—such as @WandaVision and @Pixar—directly engaged with one another on these three posts to help spread the cheer of all that The Disney Bundle has to offer.
